We have been assigned to go out in the city and observe a single location at the same time of day (roughly) for three days;
On day one I was to go out and just watch. to observe and to just blend in.
This is what I encountered...
I decided for this small project to go to one of my favorite places in the city; This was the first time I had been there in two months so the changes in the scenery itself was striking. Some of the trees that were still some what green were now stark and bare. As my first day was a Sunday, I knew it would be a day hen there were a lot of people-and they were from all walks of life.
I stayed near the fountain for a short time, watching the families and couples, there was a couple of jugglers who could have been father and daughter, one man came through with 5 kids under his care.
After a while I decided to take a walk through the whole park; I have seen much of Yoyogi in the past bu I had never walked though the entire park.
Day Two.
Day two was my note day- here are some notations.
I noticed that most people were using the park as a through way to and from work and home, while others were relaxing with friends and pets.
The poor who seem completely ignored in this city live here in this park, watched as one man scowered through a trash can o find anything useful, and the food he found he gave to the ravens.
There are no musicians today, only the ravens, for me this is a first.
Day Three
Interact
I met one man, with his small dog, and took a picture with him, he was from Vancouver, Canada. Unfortunately my memory didn't allow me to remember his name after I left his, however I know his jack russle was named Spot. He and his pet make there visit to the park daily and he told me of some of the normal comings and goings that happen in Yoyogi.
I filmed as I watched people and as ducks grew into night I realized how Noir the park looked with the leaves blowing with the background of a musician playing a Didjeridoo. I wanted to approach him however he kept looking around and seemed like he didn't want anyone around; just quiet practice time.
